Myself, a British soldier, and my wife Caroline, an Interior Designer, had
never really appreciated photography as a form of art.
That was until we stumbled across a couple of photographs of Edinburgh; one of the
Tattoo and one of the Eye. They
took our breath away. It had
clearly taken a great deal of passion to produce these wonderful shots.
This was in the run up to our wedding in April 2007.
Luckily for us we met the perpetrator of these fabulous photographs.
Shortly after perusing his portfolio we had our wedding photographer.
A friendship blossomed with Andrew that last to this day.
I can vividly remember the two pearls of wisdom that Andrew imparted well
before the big day.
For Caroline – “Please arrange a couple of meetings beforehand so I can
shoot you. It will make the day
run much more smoothly.” This
made Caroline feel so much more comfortable when the pictures were taken on
the day. It also gave us a
chance to sort out the possibilities for some fantastic shots on the day.
The dancing blur and the Bride enveloped in friends are our
particular favourites
For Me – “Don’t drink too much before eight o’clock.
Your wife does not want to stand next to red-faced, puffy eyed
drunken man on her wedding day!”
I followed these instructions to the letter.
With a double Jack Daniels and Coke in each hand at 2005 hrs I was
collared by the man himself – “…But Andrew, it’s past eight o’clock!”
I was forgiven.
I believe that Andrew’s talent, attention to detail and sheer enjoyment of
his work were paramount in the production of an album that we are both very
proud of. Having attended
several weddings, I can see that the service he provided was second to none.
The work he put in beforehand to ensure the day ran smoothly, his
control of the situation on the day and the aftercare he provided ensured
that we had the best quality photographs.
